Week #17
Having missed writing the blog for 2 weeks in between, it feels like I am starting over. But there is a bittersweet feeling about starting over. You leave behind all the excuses and focus on what's next.
My finals are over, the two-week hiatus was worth it as I believe I did quite well in all my courses. One of the biggest projects for this semester was my form project taught by Blake Hudelson, where we had to come up with a new product idea and develop its form, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality. If you're curious, take a look at my final deck (it was meant to be presented to an audience in person, not sent over remotely, but should work).
As one thing gets done, another creeps up. Winter break starts, and so does the race to finish my portfolio before the next semester starts again. If you're reading this, you're probably on my personal website, which also hosts my design portfolio. Grab a pencil, take a look, jot down what you like and what you dislike, and send it over to me. Anything and everything helps. My biggest aim for this batch of improvements to my portfolio (I have been building it since 3+ years) is to simplify it. Make it stupidly simple to browse through and let my work shine through.
PS: I am writing this from the beautiful Suzzalo Library at the University of Washington, one of the most beautiful libraries here in the United States. Life couldn't be better (maybe it could if I had a bike). :)
