Week #10

This is getting to me, so this one will be super short.

Grad school is tough, and not for the usual reasons. It is not the long lectures, not the assignments, not the people, nor the new country. But the fact that you have to juggle all of it together. The cognitive overload is intense, and I can now tell with complete awareness that I had not considered this at all. I would look at each thing as an individual problem and then point to it and say, "Yes, I can easily handle that," when the question to ask all along was, can I handle all of it at once?

This week, I hopped on the Caltrain to travel to South Bay and realized how flawed our cities are. We do not prioritize public/shared transport at all and have put all our focus on making more roads and bigger cars. It is inconvenient to use public transit like Caltrain, but it is even sadder when you take into account that we have hardly considered the last-mile connectivity.
